Stage managing Resistible Rise was my first experience managing a mainstage production, and it proved to be an incredible opportunity for growth. On the first day, I was so nervous that I had to script my announcements word for word on sticky notes just to get through them. By the end of the process, I relied on sticky notes to write down a list of reminders. The production came with its challenges, including managing both understudies going on during two separate performances. Despite the challenges, I am proud of the work I accomplished alongside my incredible team. While I recognize there is still so much to learn and areas where I could improve, I’m confident in the progress I’ve made and excited to continue developing my skills as a stage manager.

Dance Composition is a showcase featuring original pieces choreographed by student artists. I joined the production during tech. As part of my role, I worked backstage, and took on the responsibility of calling the show. This allowed me to gain more experience as a stage manager and calling a show.

the team!
Girl, That's So Tragic was a Second Stage project led by Annika Halonen. Over the course of two weeks, the cast collaboratively wrote a 30 minute show, which we performed at the project's conclusion. This production marked my first experience as a stage manager and calling a show, offering a unique and rewarding challenge. The fast-paced, collaborative nature of the project made it an exciting and memorable experience that deepened my appreciation for the creative process and the role of stage management.

The Stage Management class was an introduction to the essential skills and responsibilities of a stage manager. Throughout the semester, we focused on creating a detailed production book, selecting a show of our choice to build a mock production from the ground up. This process involved crafting all the necessary paperwork ourselves, from schedules to cue sheets, giving us hands-on experience in the organizational and creative aspects of stage management.
